Meningitis B Vaccination
What is Meningitis B?
Meningitis B is a serious bacterial infection caused by meningococcal group B bacteria. It can lead to meningitis, which is inflammation of the protective lining around the brain and spinal cord, and septicaemia, a severe blood infection. Symptoms can develop quickly and may include fever, headache, vomiting, a stiff neck, sensitivity to light, and a rash that does not fade when pressed. Meningitis B can become life-threatening if not treated promptly.
